    Hi!

I need to load the plugPDF native library myself. But it is being loaded automatically by the PDFDocument class… What can I do?

    Thank you!

    Hello Simon,

Could you tell me what is your intention for loading the native library by yourself?
Do you want to lazy-load the library? Or do you want to just include the native library architectures only you want to support?
    Best regards,

Yeah, I want to lazy load the right native library when I need it. It is very important for me to keep the APK file as small as possible…

    Hello Simon,

I don’t think it can be easily implemented. However we can put this feature on our TODO list.
Then do you want to download the necessary .so file when necessary?

    Hello Dr. Plug,

It would be very easy… I just needed the class PDFDocument not to load the library itself.

    Hello Simon,

Right. We will add a flag to the PDFDocument constructor which will decide to load the library automatically or not.
This will do what you want. When it is ready, we will let you know.

    Hello Simon,

We released a new version of the PlugPDF SDK allowing to lazy-load the
    .so library.

Now, the PlugPDF SDK doesn’t load the native library before the call to
    the PlugPDF.init() method is made.

Since the native library can be excluded from your APK files, the
program will download it for you when running for the first time.

Please download the latest SDK at https://plugpdf.com/thank-you/ and let
us know if you have any further questions by posting a message on the forum.

Thank you for your interest in our product.

    Best regards,

    Dr. Plug
