Hi, I downloaded your pdf Android SDK and my application APK grew from 3.8mb to 20.2mb. It looks like most of the size is from the 8mb .SO files.

Is there any way to reduce that to something reasonable?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
The huge size comes from the fact that .so file contains 4 architecture files such as arm, arm7, mips, and x86. If you choose necessary architecture files, the size can be reduced to about 5 MB after compressed.
    Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the response. My APK file is now 7.8mb (up from 3.7mb), thats still a huge increase. Is it reasonable to double the size of an application just to add PDF reading capability?

Do you offer any thinner distributions with less features?

    Hi Alex,

As you see in the “Features” page of this site, PlugPDF supports many features related to reading/viewing PDF files. It necessarily increases to the size of the apps that adopted the SDK. However, your question about thinner distributions is worth considering, I think. PlugPDF Team is going to discuss it at the next meeting. Thanks a lot.
