    Hi,
in one of our projects we need to create new Free Text Annotations.
    The requirements are pretty simple:
    * The user clicks a button to create a new free text annotation
    * points to the position where the annotation should be created
    * types in some text, done

Could you please explain how to todo that?

    Hi Dr. Plug,

I’m also interested in more details regarding creating (not just viewing) Free Text Annotations. It would be great to have the same workflow as for Text Annotations:
    * User chooses Free Text Annotations from toolbar
    * User points to the wanted position in the pdf
    * User gets a dialog similar to the Text Annotation dialog and can enter the annotation text
    * after closing the dialog with OK the Free Text Annotation gets rendered into the pdf

It looks like you have the needed methods already in your sdk but I can’t figure out how to use them. Some sample code would be very helpful!

    Thank you in advance,
    Mathew

    Hello Pawel and Mathew,

    I’m so sorry for late.
Actually The things you want are possible to use our PlugPDF.
But At first I have a small question.
What is your OS? ( I mean Android, iOS)
If you let me know this information, I’ll let you know how to do that.

    Best Regards,
    Dr.Plug

    Hello Mathew,

I think the thing that i let you know are adding a Button in tool bar and making a FreeTextAnnotation right?
Because other thing is not concerned with our SDK.

    1) Adding a button

    2) Insert a Free Text Annot

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

isn’t a text watermark something completely different to a text annotation?

    Cheers,
    Thomas

The call of the method “InsertTextWaterMark” ist raising an error “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. According to the interface PlugPDFDocument the method expects an array of pages, not the pointer to an int.
I’ve been trying to pass an array to the method but as we are using ARC there seems a problem for getting the pointer for the array of pages (int*). Could you tell me, how to do this?

I’m not sure whether the method InsertTextWaterMark does what I want because I need an annotation not a watermark. The method parameters like start-page or page-length make no sense to me when creating one single annotation.

    Hi, Thomas

I’m so sorry for late answering.
Yes you right, Thank you for your feedback we fixed a bug in InsertTextWaterMark.
so from now, you can’t get a EXC_BAD_ACCESS.
and on Friday, we’ll release new version which has no bug.

if you want to draw an one page you just use 1 in PageLen parameter.

    Best Regards,
    Dr.Plug
